Finally, the story of Jules Savoie, the most powerful Siphon witch in America and Ruben, her ex-boyfriend and Vampire Overlord of New Orleans.
It’s a second-chance romance that nearly takes a backseat to the ongoing Stay a Spell series plotline of werewolf equality in the Supernatural world. This story takes us to Texas, a renaissance faire, Salem and London. Not to mention, a fabulous meeting with a craggy Scottish werewolf.
There’s some dominance/submission, mystery and danger – but despite the intrigue, Jules and Ruben’s romance doesn’t have that thing that makes it unique – the way the other Savoie sisters did. Maybe I’d built it up a bit too much through the hints in the other books, or maybe it’s just indicative of two supes who are a little older/more mature/responsible than the other couples.
