All the Dark Souls (trilogy)

4/5

I’m reviewing this series as one mainly due to timing. I inhaled this series in the days prior to the release of the final installment, so it’s hard for me to see this as three separate stories.

I snagged this one because I was intrigued by the story. A female legacy executioner, who wanted to be a healer but took up the ax of the family business out of necessity. The series tells the story of Joss, who saves a wayward and injured traveler, and then embarks on an unintentional quest to save a kingdom.

Dunnewin does a breathtaking job of showcasing the loneliness and sadness that comes with what was a necessary role in the village (and world). The story is full of choices and hope, all while keeping on the edge of your seat, aching for resolution.

Hi! I’m Adrienne. I really love reading books – it doesn’t matter if it’s a classic novel on a rainy day or the latest bestseller while lying in the sun. I also really enjoy sharing my thoughts about books with others. This is why I write book reviews, to help fellow book lovers find their next great read.
