Gallant

4/5

I wasn’t sure what to expect with this one, as I hadn’t read much about it – frankly, I threw it on my library list because I needed a stand-alone.

I was delighted with Schwab’s macabre story-telling, which seems to work well with all eras. In fact, it was occasionally difficult to remember what time period this one was in, as I kept picturing the dark moors.

As other readers have mentioned, I appreciated the unique perspective of a non-verbal main character, as well as a curious perspective for the specter. While I was a bit disappointed that the ending wasn’t all rainbows and sunshine, I have to remember that Schwab ripped my heart out with Addie LaRue, so I should have been prepared.

Hi! I’m Adrienne. I really love reading books – it doesn’t matter if it’s a classic novel on a rainy day or the latest bestseller while lying in the sun. I also really enjoy sharing my thoughts about books with others. This is why I write book reviews, to help fellow book lovers find their next great read.
