House of Flame and Shadow

5/5

I just finished House of Flame and Shadow a few hours ago and .. I’m surprisingly ok. I think. Maybe. You might want to check on me tomorrow.

What can I say without ruining it all?

First and foremost, SJM is a storyteller of the highest caliber. She waves together two of her universes seamlessly, even across the echoes of time. She takes characters that you thought you hated and makes them your favorites. She takes you to the brink and just when you’re terrified you might lose someone, she makes you realize it’s okay if they do fade into the mists.

The arcs in this book are huge. The characters grow. Allegiances evolve. The battles are epic. The worlds are deeper than you ever imagined. But there’s still humor and a contemporary feel.  It’s Found Family in its finest hour.

Hi! I’m Adrienne. I really love reading books – it doesn’t matter if it’s a classic novel on a rainy day or the latest bestseller while lying in the sun. I also really enjoy sharing my thoughts about books with others. This is why I write book reviews, to help fellow book lovers find their next great read.
