Star Bringer

3/5

After finishing up the Crave series earlier this summer, I quickly pre-ordered Tracy’s newest book, co-authored with Nina Croft. Honestly, it promised all the tropes and scenarios I love: Found Family, Enemies to Lovers, plus space, sci-fi and world-building adventure.

But, in truth, this one missed the mark a little for me. The character arcs were predictable, the pace is break-neck in character development but slow in plot, and half of the spice just felt flat. It felt more like YA than adult.

There are moments of brilliance and uniqueness scattered through the pages, including a gestalt and LGBTQ representation. It just won’t be enough for me to read the second installment, assuming this is the first of a series.

Hi! I’m Adrienne. I really love reading books – it doesn’t matter if it’s a classic novel on a rainy day or the latest bestseller while lying in the sun. I also really enjoy sharing my thoughts about books with others. This is why I write book reviews, to help fellow book lovers find their next great read.
